Seven-G - Next-Generation F/A-18 Flight Simulation

Download
Version 1.03

Seven-G is a next-generation F/A-18 simulator.

Independently developed, it utilizes real physics, flight modelling, and environmental conditions to create one of the most realistic F/A-18 simulations ever built.

Currently, Seven-G is still in the early stages of developement. Once completed, it will be released free of charge and will attempt to set new boundries in flight simulation software.

Key features...

  • Realistic F/A-18 flight model based on true data.
  • Fully functioning aircraft systems & clickable 6DOF cockpit.
  • Implementation of both A2G & A2A roles.
  • Environment utilizing real physics.
  • Lightweight engine rendered in DirectX 9.
  • Much more...

About this project...

As simulations are becoming ever increasingly more advanced, powerful, and dynamic, so do the technicalities within them. This can lead to many problems and difficulties, and generally lead away from what the simulation is designed to do - to accurately simulate flight as best as possible. In Seven-G, we have gone back to basics, and have only implemented what is needed to maintain accurate flight simulation of (in this case), the F/A-18 Hornet.

Development

Since we've gone live with the Seven-G project, we've gained several talented modellers, artists, and developers onto the team; changing the pace of the project considerably. Currently, key goals thoughout the simulation are being reached at far greater numbers, and we see great potential for the future of Seven-G. Also, the amount of positive response from the community has been great, and with the added improvements, changes and developments, we hope that trend continues.

The release of our latest 'developer demo' series (version 1.03) demonstates a variety of new features, as well as refines and improved upon much of the older ones. As of now, public development information will be solely relayed throughout the message boards, news section and other announcements. We look forward to the future months ahead of continued development, and anticipate a timely and on-schedule release.
