Development
The Project
Simply put, the project known as Seven-G aims to bring the most realistic F/A-18 simulation to the table. Utilizing the DirectX environment, the core of it relies on real math and physics to do the dirty work of the complex computations that involve the dynamics of flight. Everything is based on real data, and genuine sources for authentic confirmation of realism. On top of that, is all of the features you would come to expect from a 'next-generation' simulation.
The project itself is being developed in a non-commercial environment, and hopes to bring the openness of an open-source model so that all may enjoy this. We're also taking a different approach to how we release information about the project. We release incremental demos that showcase recent development accomplishments, and allow the user to enjoy and give us feedback.
Seven-G has only been recently released publicly after about 1.5 years of background development, and (as of now) are keeping the release free of charge. Although there will probably never be a final release, as in any software project additions and improvements can always be made, we are making great strides in the speed of progress within development especially with our new found team.
The Team
Make no second guesses; you would not be seeing what we have up until now without the help of our recently aquired and added development team. They range in age, occupation and location but all share a common goal towards the continued work on a very promising project. The current team is as follows, and is in no particular order:
Metalsw
Programming Lead & Co-Creator
GT
Project Lead, Webmaster & Co-Creator
Cmatt
Technical Advisor
Racer
3D Modeller
Teriander
3D Modeller
Nano
Programmer
Of course, another group of individuals are also responsible for how the success will ultimately be affected. That is the incredibly enthusiastic userbase of fans that continually support the ongoing development of Seven-G. So from all of us on the development team; Thanks!
More Information
For more information on development progress, news, and updates, you can always check out the forum. It is the primary tool for the development team and the userbase to communicate and share ideas and feedback. We regularly post updates of various screenshots, development images, upcoming features and work, as well as answer any questions that you may have with regards to the beta release demos.
In a short while, we will be including a 'Bug Wiki' with information to common runtime problems with the simulation such as crashes, errors, or other anomalies. This will hopefully make troubleshooting more effective. We also intend to start a 'Dev Blog' in order for our fans to stay up-to-date on current events or special announcements.
If you have any questions, or would like to apply to the development team (we are always looking for new people), please visit the contact page for all relevant information.
